We're looking for two experienced floor layers to join the install team at Choices Flooring Mackay. We supply and install carpet, luxury vinyl plank and commercial vinyl across residential and commercial jobs in Mackay and the surrounding region, and we have a steady pipeline of new build work on top of our retail and commercial projects.

Ideally you're proficient in both carpet and vinyl. We'll also consider a strong carpet or vinyl specialist.

The job

- Measuring up and reading plans to work out material quantities

- Removing old coverings and preparing subfloors to Australian Standards

- Installing broadloom carpet (underlay, gripper, seaming and stretching) and carpet tiles

- Installing luxury vinyl plank

- Cutting, fitting and finishing trims, thresholds and edges

- Repairs and rectification work

- Keeping your vehicle, tools and job sites tidy and safe

What you need

- At least 3 years' experience as a floor layer, installing broadloom carpet and/or vinyl plank

- Solid floor preparation skills

- A current driver's licence and a construction white card (both must be held before you start)





- Good communication with customers, builders and the team

- Reliable and fit for physical work

Highly regarded

- Commercial sheet vinyl, including welded seams, coving and wall vinyl

- Advanced floor preparation

- Floating floor and engineered timber installation

What we offer

- Permanent full-time role, Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 4:00pm

- $80,000 to $120,000 per year plus superannuation, depending on your experience and skills

- Vehicle, tools and uniform supplied

- A mix of residential and commercial work with a steady current build pipeline

- You'll report directly to the Managing Director

- Visa sponsorship may be available for a suitably skilled overseas applicant
