The Engineering Technologist will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and continuous improvement of aluminium window and glazing systems. The role supports manufacturing efficiency, product compliance, and innovation in line with Australian standards.

Task & responsibilities

• Assisting in the design and engineering of glass and window products, including frames, coatings, and energy-efficient solutions.

• Using CAD software to create technical drawings and specifications.

• Collaborating with engineers to develop innovative window and glazing solutions.

• Working with production teams to ensure the feasibility of designs in manufacturing,

• Assisting in material selection for glass, frames, and coating to improve durability and energy efficiency.

• Evaluating production processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

• Ensuring compliance with safety standards and industry regulations.

• Conducting testing and analysis of glass strength, insulation properties, and weather resistance.

• Ensuring that windows and glass panels meet building codes and industry standards.

• Investigating products failures and recommending design improvements.

• Assisting in project planning and coordination for installation projects.

• Providing technical support to installation teams to ensure proper fitting and sealing of glass, energy-efficient coatings, and impact-resistant glass.





• Researching and recommending new materials or design improvements.

• Assisting in the development of sustainable and eco-friendly glass solutions.

• Preparing technical reports, manuals, and documentation for products and processes.

• Ensuring compliance with local and international building codes, safety regulations, and workplace standards.

• Assisting in the preparation of certifications for window and glass products

. • Providing technical advice to clients, architects, and contractors on glass and window selection.

• Assisting the sales and marketing teams with product knowledge and specifications.

• Addressing customer concerns regarding performance, durability, and installation.

Qualification & experience

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field

• Minimum experience of 12 months (full-time, part time, casual) equivalent in the same field (Desired)

• Ability to navigate engineering software like AutoCAD, V6 by Sost tech, WERS (Essential)

• Sound Knowledge of Microsoft 365, outlook, and other technical software

- Experience in engineering technology
- Knowledge of engineering principles and practices

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills •
