About the role

TMT Education is a boutique RTO teaching makeup, hair and media. You will deliver and assess CUA51020 Diploma of Screen and Media (Specialist Make-up Services), and related makeup units as rostered. You teach onsite in Melbourne CBD and Braeside. Some students will be in the room; some will attend the same session online or by remote attendance. You must be able to teach and manage both groups in one class.

Key responsibilities

- Deliver practical and theory sessions for Diploma-level screen and media makeup (beauty and media makeup, hair and wigs as applicable, character, SFX and prosthetics to the units on your matrix)
- Teach from the TAS and session plans — competency-based delivery, not "watch me work"
- Assess against the unit: observation, products, questions and projects. Competent means the evidence meets the benchmark, not that the look is fashionable
- Complete marking, feedback, attendance, LMS records and assessment sign-off in the required timeframe
- Record practical assessments where required and keep student work and assessor comments audit-ready
- Give explicit, professional feedback. Stretch strong students. Support weaker students without lowering the standard
- Maintain industry currency and keep your trainer file current (qualifications, PD, industry evidence)
- Follow TMT trainer procedures, including assessment instructions, student submission rules and professional language with students




- Work with the enrolment and admin team on class lists, results and any student issues that affect completion
- Take part in validation and internal audit when rostered

About you

- Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment: TAE40122 or TAE40116 (or another credential accepted under the Standards for RTOs Credential Policy)
- Vocational competency to deliver CUA51020 Diploma of Screen and Media (Specialist Make-up Services) — relevant qualification and/or substantial, current industry evidence at or above Diploma level
- Current industry practice as a makeup artist in film, TV, theatre, editorial, fashion or SFX — not only salon or bridal work
- Right to work in Australia
- Employee Working with Children Check and Australian Federal Police Check (or willingness to obtain before starting)
- Current driver's licence preferred
- Makeup craft: you can demonstrate Diploma-level techniques cleanly, explain why you made each choice, and correct a student's work without taking the brush out of their hand for the whole class
- Teaching delivery: you can run a session to time, set a standard, check understanding, and get a mixed-ability group working
- Assessment judgement: you can fail work that is not yet competent and explain what must change
- Administration: you complete rolls, results, comments and LMS tasks without being chased
