Sydney - Hybrid | Initial six-month contract | Five days per week, with four days considered
GCBlue is seeking a motivated IT Support Engineer to provide friendly, reliable technical support to our business clients.
Working with a small, collaborative team, you’ll support Microsoft 365, Windows devices and business applications. You’ll also gain hands-on project experience, assisting with Microsoft 365 implementations, security improvements, device deployments and migrations.
This role would suit someone who enjoys helping people, has a sound technical foundation and wants to develop their Microsoft support and project skills. Training and mentoring from highly experienced consultants will be provided—you don’t need experience with every technology listed below.
What you’ll do
- Provide technical support by telephone, Microsoft Teams, email and remote-support tools, including TeamViewer.
- Troubleshoot issues with Windows computers, Microsoft 365 applications, printers, mobile devices and business applications.
- Assist with Microsoft 365 administration across Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Entra ID, Intune and Defender.
- Set up user accounts and manage licensing, password resets, multifactor authentication and access permissions.
- Configure and deploy computers, applications and mobile devices.
- Support client onboarding, technology rollouts, system upgrades and migration and security projects.
- Manage support requests according to agreed priorities and service levels, keeping clients informed and escalating complex issues when needed.
- Maintain technical documentation, support procedures, client records and our SharePoint-based asset register.
- Occasionally attend client offices for onsite support and project work.
What you’ll bring
- A professional, friendly and customer-focused approach.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills,
with the patience to help users of different technical abilities.
- A good working knowledge of Windows computers and Microsoft 365 desktop applications.
- A methodical approach to troubleshooting and the initiative to investigate issues and follow them through.
- Robust organisational skills and the ability to prioritise multiple support requests.
- An interest in Microsoft 365, cloud services, cybersecurity and device management.
- A willingness to learn, ask questions and contribute to a small team.
- A current driver’s licence and access to your own transport for occasional client visits.
Helpful, but not essential
- Previous experience in an IT service provider, corporate IT team or help desk.
- Experience supporting or administering Microsoft 365, particularly Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams or OneDrive.
- Experience configuring and supporting Windows devices.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems and remote-support tools.
- Microsoft certifications or current study towards a certification.
What we offer
- Training and mentoring to build your technical skills and confidence.
- Hands-on experience across both client support and IT projects.
- The opportunity to work with a range of business clients and Microsoft technologies.
- A small, collaborative team where you can contribute and continue learning.
Location and contract
This is an initial six-month contract, ideally working five days per week. We will also consider candidates available four days per week. There is a strong possibility of extension based on business requirements and performance.
The training and induction will initially be based in Manly. Once you’re familiar with our clients, systems and support processes, remote working is available.
Interested?
If you enjoy helping people, solving technical problems and developing your Microsoft technology skills, we’d love to hear from you.
