About the role

We are looking for an Associate Midwifery Manager to join our leadership team supports our Midwifery Manager in Birth Suite. The AMM, together with the Midwifery Managers form the management team responsible for patient centred, high quality clinical care, and the productive operational running of the ward.

This position involves:

- Provide leadership and support to midwifery staff, graduate midwifery staff and O&G; team to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate care.
- Ensure compliance with relevant clinical guidelines, policies, and regulatory standards.
- Facilitate a positive patient experience by promoting best practices in maternity care.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to achieve service goals. Lead quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits through an agreed portfolio.
- Manage staffing levels, resource allocation, and workload distribution effectively

About you

- Current Midwifery registration with AHPRA
- Previous experience in a supervisory or CMS role
- Experience in intrapartum, antenatal & postnatal care




- High level birthing skills including intravenous cannulation, cervical balloon insertion, speculum examination
- Desirable skills include water birth accreditation and perineal repair
- Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience
- A strong commitment to high quality care
- The ability to work as part of a diverse team
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Awareness and understanding on National Health Standards and Accreditation Standards

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.

Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up to date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offered and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
