About the role

We are seeking a talented Chef to join the kitchen team at Luna's Garfield on a full time basis. This is an exciting prospect to work in a dynamic hospitality environment where culinary creativity and precision are highly valued. Based in Garfield vic, (15 min east of Pakenham) you will play a key role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests, contributing to the reputation and success of our establishment.

What you'll be doing

1. Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards

2. Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, safety and cleanliness in the kitchen

3. Managing food preparation stations and ensuring ingredients are fresh and properly stored

4. Plating dishes with attention to detail and visual appeal

5. Collaborating with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient service during busy periods

6. Following portion control guidelines and minimising food wastage

7. Assisting with menu development and suggesting new dishes based on seasonal ingredients and culinary trends

8. Responding to feedback from management and continuously improving cooking techniques

9. Maintaining kitchen equipment in good working order and reporting any maintenance issues

What we're looking for

1. Proven experience working as a Chef or Cook in a professional kitchen environment

2. Strong knowledge of food safety standards, & hygiene practices

3. Proficiency in a range of cooking techniques and culinary methods

4. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and maintain quality during peak service times

5.



Excellent time management and organisational skills

6. Strong communication and teamwork abilities

7. Attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality dishes

8. Flexibility with working hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays

9. Current cert 3 or 4 in commercial cookery

10. Other relevant culinary qualifications or formal training an advantage
