About the role

The Grade 2 Paediatric Occupational Therapist is responsible for managing a caseload of both community health and NDIS clients, providing high-quality clinical occupational therapy services to children and young people who experience developmental delays, difficulties or disability. The role involves completing clinical assessments, providing therapy (individual or in group), and relevant follow up, practicing in a wholistic, child and family centred, and strength-based manner. Work occurs in clinic, early childhood, schools, and home environments. The role includes supervising students, early career clinicians, and allied health assistants or volunteers (as required), and participating in all clinical governance activities.

Key responsibilities

- Participating in and commitment to all clinical governance activities

About you

- Tertiary qualification in occupational therapy, and registration with AHPRA





- Advanced clinical skills and demonstrated high level clinical problem solving in paediatric occupational therapy

- Demonstrated ability to practice in a collaborative, strength based, family and child centred model, with emphasis on parent upskilling on how to best support their child

- High level and effective interpersonal skills, including teamwork, leadership, and communication

- Strong organisational and time management skills, efficient and flexible work practices including the ability to manage a busy caseload, meet deadlines, prioritise, and respond to change

- Demonstrated commitment to career development by maintaining, applying, and sharing clinical knowledge

- Current National Police Check (within 6 months from date of application)

- Current Working with Children Check - Employee check nominating BCH

- Current Victorian Driver's License

- NDIS Worker Screening check

- Immunisation status clearance

About us

Bellarine Community Health (BCH) is a multidisciplinary allied health service provider. The child health and development team provides multidisciplinary allied health services for children and young people primarily aged 0-12 years, comprised of a agile, team-oriented, and friendly group of occupational therapists, speech pathologists, a physiotherapist, mental health clinicians and a child and family engagement officer. Children are supported by several other services within BCH including dental, nutrition and dietetics, and podiatry.
