What you'll be doing
Practicing and promoting safe, efficient and effective midwifery care that reflects current standards of midwifery practices and current Mid North Coast Local Health District policies and procedures.

This position will be working across the Maternity Unit, Birthing Unit and Special Care Nursery.

About You

You are a currently Registered Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, bringing demonstrated skills, knowledge, and clinical competence in the delivery of safe, evidence-based midwifery care within an acute hospital setting. Your professional practice reflects a strong commitment to providing high-quality care to women and their families while maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence and patient-centred care.





You possess well-developed clinical assessment and problem-solving skills, enabling you to make sound decisions in complex and rapidly changing healthcare environments. Your ability to identify clinical priorities, respond appropriately to patient needs, and implement effective care strategies contributes to positive patient outcomes and supports the delivery of safe and efficient midwifery services.

You are an effective communicator who demonstrates strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, supported by proficiency in the use of information technology and clinical documentation systems. Your collaborative approach allows you to build qualified relationships with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams, ensuring coordinated and outcome-focused care.

Working effectively within a multidisciplinary environment, you have the ability to plan, coordinate, and evaluate midwifery care that meets individual patient needs and aligns with organisational and professional standards. You are adaptable, resilient, and committed to maintaining continuity of care across a variety of clinical situations.

You are also able to participate in a seven-day rotating roster, including night duty, weekends, and public holidays, demonstrating flexibility and dedication to meeting the operational requirements of a busy acute healthcare service while continuing to provide exceptional standards of midwifery care.
