About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused Retail Sales & Hospitality Team Members to join our team at our Pokolbin location. This is a full-time position based in Pokolbin NSW 2320. In this role, you will be the face of our business, delivering outstanding customer service whilst managing retail transactions and supporting our hospitality operations. You will work in a dynamic, rapid-paced environment where you'll engage with visitors from around Australia and beyond, helping them explore and purchase our exceptional cheese and local products. This position is integral to creating memorable experiences for our guests and driving sales across our retail offerings.

Key responsibilities

- Providing warm, welcoming customer service to all visitors, assisting with product selection and answering questions about our cheeses and locally-sourced offerings

- Processing retail transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems and handling cash and card payments with confidence

- Maintaining the retail space in a clean, organised and visually appealing condition, with products appropriately displayed and stocked





- Suggesting products to customers based on their preferences and dietary requirements, maximising sales opportunities

- Supporting hospitality operations including table service, order taking and beverage service in our tasting and dining areas

- Packing and preparing products for dispatch, ensuring items are securely wrapped and packaged to customer specifications

- Communicating effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak trading periods

- Maintaining knowledge of product ranges, pricing, and promotional offers to provide accurate information to customers

- Adhering to food safety and health and hygiene standards whilst handling products and preparing customer orders

- Contributing to a positive team atmosphere and supporting colleagues to deliver consistent high-quality service

What we're looking for

- Proven experience in retail sales, hospitality, or customer service roles, ideally within a food and beverage or tourism setting

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for delivering exceptional customer service

- Strong numerical skills and experience with point-of-sale systems or retail transactions

- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously





- Physical capability to spend extended periods on your feet and to lift and carry stock and products as required

- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and public holidays, as required in a tourism-focused business

- A positive attitude, reliability and a willingness to go the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction

- Basic food safety knowledge or willingness to obtain food safety certifications

- Enthusiasm for local products, cheese, and the Hunter Valley region (preferred)

- Team player mentality with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds
