An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced and driven Assistant Store Manager to join the leadership team at our Melbourne Emporium flagship boutique.

As a key flagship destination for Rachel Gilbert, our Emporium boutique offers clients the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of evening wear and experience our signature approach to elegance, refined luxury and trusted styling.

At Rachel Gilbert, our dresses are not simply designed to be worn, they are designed to be experienced. Every client interaction should reflect this philosophy, creating a memorable and highly personalised journey from the moment a client enters the boutique.

We are seeking a confident and commercially minded retail leader who can bring this vision to life while supporting the continued growth and performance of our flagship store.

The Role

Working closely with the Store Manager, the Assistant Store Manager will play an integral role in driving the success of the boutique, developing a high-performing team and delivering an exceptional client experience.

You will:

- Support the Store Manager in driving sales, conversion, average order value and overall boutique performance

- Lead from the floor, setting a strong example of luxury service and client engagement

- Create an elevated and personalised experience that makes every client feel confident, understood and celebrated

- Position yourself and the team as trusted style guides, offering considered and knowledgeable styling advice

- Build and nurture meaningful relationships with new,



returning and VIP clients

- Lead, motivate and develop the team to achieve individual and boutique targets

- Coach through regular feedback, floor observations and ongoing development

- Confidently lead the boutique and make commercial decisions in the Store Manager’s absence

- Maintain exceptional standards across visual merchandising, stock management and boutique operations

- Use trade insights, client feedback and product knowledge to identify opportunities and respond proactively

- Support rostering, onboarding and performance management

- Act as an ambassador for Rachel Gilbert, consistently embodying our brand values and standards

About You

You will be an experienced retail leader who understands that true luxury extends beyond the product, it is created through every detail of the client experience.

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

- Previous experience as an Assistant Store Manager, senior retail leader or high-performing supervisor

- Experience within luxury or premium fashion, occasion wear, bridal or another elevated client environment

- A proven ability to drive sales and deliver against commercial targets

- A strong leadership presence and the confidence to hold yourself and others accountable





- A genuine passion for coaching, developing and motivating a team

- Exceptional clienteling skills and the ability to build trusted, long-term relationships

- A natural ability to connect with clients and provide confident, considered styling guidance

- Solid communication skills and a proactive, solutions-focused approach

- High attention to detail and confidence managing multiple operational priorities

- The ability to remain composed, decisive and hands-on within a fast-paced flagship boutique

- Flexibility to work a full-time retail roster, including weekends
