Oznoki is a specialty mushroom farm in Craigieburn producing fresh, Australian-grown enoki mushrooms using an indoor bottle-growing system.

We’re looking for reliable team members to help with the harvesting, packing and general production activities of our farm.

About the role

This is a hands-on role working with our enoki crop from the final stages of growing through to the finished packed product. We'll provide training in our processes and equipment, so previous mushroom-growing experience isn't required.

Key responsibilities

- Removing growing collars from mature mushroom bottles

- Harvesting enoki mushrooms from bottles

- Trimming, weighing and packing mushrooms

- Packing finished products into cartons

- Fitting growing collars to bottles during the growing process

- Preparing work areas, equipment, tools and materials before production

- Learning to operate production and packing equipment safely and in accordance with established procedures

- Cleaning and resetting equipment and work areas after production

- Completing scheduled workplace cleaning, including shared facilities such as the bathroom, staff tearoom, laundry and office

- Handling bottles, baskets, trolleys and finished products

- Following food-safety, hygiene, quality and workplace-safety procedures

- Assisting with other reasonable farm and production tasks when required

About you

- Reliable, punctual and ready to begin work at the scheduled start time

- Comfortable with hands-on and repetitive work

- Able to work efficiently while maintaining attention to detail

- Careful when handling fresh produce





- Comfortable standing and moving throughout a shift

- Able to safely lift and move items weighing up to 20 kg

- Comfortable learning to operate production and packing equipment

- Happy working as part of a small team

- Willing to assist with setup, cleaning and general workplace organisation

- Comfortable working in a cool food-production workplace

- Able to follow food-safety, hygiene, quality and workplace-safety procedures

Hours and pay

This is a casual Level 2 position under the Horticulture Award, currently paying $33.05 per hour plus superannuation.

We expect to offer approximately 20 hours per week across 3-4 days, generally Monday to Thursday. This will usually involve shifts of approximately five hours, although start times and shift lengths may vary depending on harvest volumes and production requirements. As this is casual employment, hours are not guaranteed.

Tuesdays generally focus on workplace cleaning, preparation and setup for the upcoming harvest. The remaining days primarily involve harvesting, packing and related production work.

Additional hours may become available as production increases.
