Hero Sushi Surfers Paradise is seeking an experienced Cook to join our team.

Hero Sushi currently operates more than 50 restaurants and kiosks across ACT, NSW, QLD and VIC, serving a range of Japanese cuisine, including sushi, sashimi and other Japanese dishes.

Qualifications and Experience

n

n
At least a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or a higher qualification in a relevant field;
n
A minimum of three years of relevant practical experience working as a Cook in the hospitality industry;
n
The ability to work effectively in a rapid-paced and busy kitchen setting; and
n
A reliable, passionate and self-motivated approach to work.

About the Role

n

This is a full time position working 38 hours per week.

n

As a Cook, your duties and responsibilities will include:

n

n




Preparing ingredients and food items prior to the opening of the restaurant;
n
Checking the quantity, quality and freshness of ingredients and food supplies;
n
Preparing and cooking food using appropriate cooking equipment in accordance with customer orders and any special dietary requirements;
n
Portioning, plating and presenting dishes to the required standard;
n
Properly storing ingredients and food products after use and minimising food wastage;
n
Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in food preparation and cooking areas;
n
Assisting with the training of other kitchen staff when required; and
n
Complying with company policies, food safety requirements and workplace procedures.

Remuneration

The final salary will be determined based on the successful applicant's qualifications, skills and relevant experience.
