At STEPS, we're a purpose-driven not-for-profit creating real change in our communities. We believe everyone deserves the chance to grow towards a brighter future. The Work Mates program focuses on empowering participants to build confidence and develop practical employability skills. It provides long-term and personalised employment coaching to youth and adults with an NDIS plan, and delivers tailored, hands‐on support.

Part time and casual roles available, perfect for someone wanting flexibility and balance without compromising on purpose.

What You'll Do:

n

Support individuals to identify goals and overcome barriers
n
Coach participants in resumes, job searching, and interview skills
n
Deliver engaging, person‐centred job readiness training
n
Develop confidence, social skills, and workplace readiness
n
Connect with employers and advocate for participant opportunities
n
Track progress and maintain accurate, confidential records
n

About You:

Genuinely passionate about supporting people with disability
n
Great interpersonal skills and natural ability to build rapport
n
Solid communication skills,



with the ability to explain concepts clearly and adjust your style to suit different learners
n
Naturally empathetic, patient, and able to connect with people from all walks of life
n
Proactive and solutions-focused, always looking for ways to remove barriers and create opportunities
n

What You'll Bring:

Genuine passion for supporting people with disability
n
Great interpersonal skills and natural ability to build rapport
n
Strong communication skills, with the ability to adjust your style to suit different learners
n
Mandatory:
n
Certificate III (or higher) in a relevant field, or equivalent experience
n
Current Working with Children card (blue card) and NDIS Worker Screening (yellow card)
n
NDIS Worker orientation module
n
