Our client is an established construction business specialising in quality new-build projects across Sydney.
They are seeking an experienced Leading Hand Carpenter to join their team and help manage day-to-day site operations.This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can lead by example, coordinate a small team and maintain high standards of quality and safety.Working closely with the Site Manager, you will lead and support carpenters, labourers, apprentices and trades while also carrying out hands-on carpentry and building duties.Your responsibilities will include:Leading and supporting a small site teamUndertaking general carpentry and building dutiesCoordinating daily site activities and ensuring deadlines are metReading and working from current plans and drawingsSetting out works, gridlines and levels accuratelyMonitoring workmanship, quality and productivityCoordinating trades and maintaining an organised worksiteOperating tools, plant and equipment safelyAssisting with site setup and pack-downParticipating in toolbox talks and site communicationIdentifying and addressing WHS hazardsEnsuring SWMS,



PPE and safety procedures are followedManaging materials, tools and equipmentSupporting and mentoring apprentices and team membersAbout YouTo be considered for this position, you must have a minimum of 2 years' experience as a Leading Hand Carpenter, senior carpenter or in a similar construction leadership role.You will also have:Certificate IV in Carpentry and JoineryClass C Driver's LicenceWhite Card – Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction IndustryMinimum 2 years' relevant construction experienceProven ability to lead and coordinate a small teamSupervisory accreditation or relevant supervisory experienceStrong understanding of WHS and secure work practicesAbility to read plans and accurately set out worksStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityExcellent communication and a proactive approachHighly regarded: Experience or licences in Bobcat, excavator, dogman/crane operation, traffic control or site setup, plus a First Aid Certificate.
