This is a hands-on, full-function role in a small team.
You will take full ownership of the day-to-day accounting function, from bank reconciliations through to the consolidated monthly management report pack.
You will report to senior management and in time you will be supported by a part-time bookkeeper, and the role is expected to grow as the business does.
Key responsibilities
Bank reconciliations across multiple accounts and currencies, accounts payable and receivable, payroll and superannuation, and BAS
Month-end close across all group entities, including journals, general ledger reconciliations and working papers
Foreign currency translation, intercompany recharges and reconciliations, and the monthly group consolidation
Preparation of the monthly management and sales reporting packs
Inventory accounting, landed cost allocation and product costing for imported and manufactured stock
Day-to-day currency requirements and administration of trade finance facilities
Finance process improvement, and a share of general office administration alongside the rest of the team
About you
CA or CPA qualified
Experience in an international business with genuine exposure to overseas entities
Business fluency in Mandarin and English.
This is an inherent requirement of the role:



you will deal regularly with our China manufacturing operation and with source documentation in Chinese
Hands-on multi-currency accounting, foreign currency translation and group consolidation experience
International shipping and importing experience, including freight and landed cost allocation
Inventory accounting in a product-based business, and Australian payroll processing
An independent operator who is prepared to do the whole job, from the routine processing through to the technical work
MYOB experience, trade finance exposure and a manufacturing or import background are all highly regarded
