Our client is a local government organisation in Melbourne's south eastern suburbs, seeking an experienced Social Media and Content Officer to join their Communications team.
This is a hands-on role managing social media, digital content and communications across a range of channels, with a robust focus on community engagement.
South eastern suburbs/bayside location, hybrid work from home6 month initial contract$65 + super hourly rate
The Social Media and Content Officer will manage and develop engaging content across social media, website and other digital channels, while supporting broader communications campaigns and providing communications advice across the organisation.
Responsibilities
Manage corporate social media channels, including proactive content and community engagementDevelop engaging written, visual and video content across multiple digital platformsSupport digital campaigns and broader communications initiativesMonitor social media trends, community issues, engagement and sentimentDevelop and implement social media strategiesResearch,



write and edit content for digital and corporate communicationsProvide communications advice and support to internal stakeholdersAssist with website, newsletters, media, photography and other communications activities
Skills and Experience
Experience managing social media for a medium to large organisationSolid experience in media, journalism, public relations or similarStrong writing and editing skills across different audiences and channelsExperience developing engaging social media content using photography and videoExperience developing and delivering social media or communications strategiesStrong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skillsExperience managing complex websitesTertiary qualification in journalism, media, web content or a related disciplinePrevious local or state government experience will be highly regarded
