Koppen Construction is seeking a highly organised and motivated Finance & Administration Officer to join our Cairns team on a full‐time permanent basis.This is a diverse role that combines financial administration with broader business support functions.
Working closely with Financial Controller and Project Support teams, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient financial management and day‐to‐day administration of the business while supporting the delivery of major civil construction projects.Key ResponsibilitiesFinance ResponsibilitiesEnd-to-end Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processingPreparing, reviewing and reconciling supplier statements and invoicesProcessing purchase orders and subcontractor claimsMaintaining accurate financial records and data entryBank reconciliations and general ledger supportAssisting with monthly financial reporting and end-of-month processesMonitoring project costs and supporting budget trackingMaintaining financial compliance and internal controlsLiaising with suppliers, subcontractors and clients regarding account enquiriesAdministration ResponsibilitiesProviding administrative support to management and project teamsCoordinating correspondence, emails and telephone enquiriesDiary, calendar and meeting managementMeeting preparation and minute takingMaintaining project and company databasesDocument control and electronic filing managementAssisting with contract administration and project documentationSupporting tender submissions and business development documentationSupporting quality, safety and environmental compliance documentationKey Requirements2 years' experience in a Finance, Accounts, Bookkeeping or Administration roleExperience within the civil construction, construction,
engineering or related industries highly regardedStrong understanding of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and general financial processesExperience using accounting software MYOB and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly ExcelExcellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracyStrong organisational and time management skillsAbility to manage competing priorities in a fast‐paced environmentProfessional written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a collaborative teamA proactive attitude with strong problem‐solving capabilitiesAbout YouYou are a proactive and detail‐oriented professional who enjoys balancing financial responsibilities with business administration support.
