Civil Crew Lead/Leading Hand - Bulk Earthworks & FoundationsCivil Crew Lead / Leading Hand – Bulk Earthworks & FoundationsPro Civil Works is seeking an experienced Civil Crew Lead / Leading Hand to join our team on a major renewable energy infrastructure project in regional NSW.This is a living-away-from-home position, working on a roster for the duration of the project.
Accommodation will be provided while working away.We are looking for a hands‐on crew lead with strong experience in bulk earthworks, foundations and general civil construction, who can lead a small crew while also operating plant and working alongside the team.The RoleWorking closely with the Site Civil Supervisor and Project Management team, you will lead a civil crew delivering a range of construction activities across the project.Your responsibilities will include:Leading and coordinating a small civil crewOperating excavators and other civil plant as requiredBulk excavation, cut and fill activitiesSite stripping, trimming and preparationFoundation excavation and preparationStructural and equipment foundation worksBackfilling and compactionWorking to levels, grades and tolerancesTrenching and service excavationDrainage and swale constructionPit and pipe installationAccess roads and hardstand constructionCoordinating daily works with the Site Civil SupervisorCompleting pre-starts, Take 5s, HACs and site documentationMonitoring productivity, quality and safetyCoordinating plant, tools,



materials and consumables required by the crewReading and working from construction drawings and specificationsIdentifying construction issues early and escalating them appropriatelyMaintaining good housekeeping and site presentationThis is a hands‐on position.
The successful applicant will be expected to lead from the front, operate plant when required and actively contribute to the delivery of the works.Living Away From HomeThis position requires living away from home while rostered on the project.Applicants must be comfortable working in regional NSW for extended rostered periods.Accommodation will be provided by Pro Civil Works while working away.This role will suit someone who is accustomed to project-based civil construction and understands the requirements of working away from home as part of a roster.Essential ExperienceApplicants must have:Previous experience as a Civil Leading Hand, Crew Lead or similarStrong bulk earthworks experienceStrong civil foundations experienceExcavation, backfilling and compaction experienceExperience working to levels, grades and tolerancesExcavator operating experienceExperience leading civil crews in the fieldAbility to read and understand civil construction drawingsGood understanding of construction methodology and sequencingStrong safety awarenessGood communication and organisational skillsA practical,
