We are seeking aCanteen Assistantto join the team at Wauchope Public School Canteen in Wauchope, NSW.
This is acasual positionthat plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our school canteen.
Key responsibilities
Operating canteen equipment safely and maintaining proper food handling practices at all times
Serving customers in a friendly, efficient, and qualified manner during service periods
Taking orders and processing payments
Maintaining a clean and hygienic working environment, including washing dishes, utensils, and surfaces
Restocking ingredients, supplies, and serving materials as needed
Following all food safety and hygiene regulations, including proper storage and temperature control
Daily, weekly and end term cleaning
What we're looking for




Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices, with a current Food Safety Certificate or willingness to obtain one
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact positively with students, staff, and parents
Reliability and punctuality, with a commitment to consistent attendance
Physical capability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry items
A friendly, patient, and service-oriented approach to customer
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team under supervision
Current working with children check
1 day per week approx 6 hours
