Due to continued growth, McDermott Aviation is looking for an organised and detail-focused Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team in Cooroy.This is a hands-on role supporting the wider Finance team with day-to-day transactions, supplier payments, reconciliations and month-end processes.

including matching invoices to purchase ordersPrepare weekly supplier payment runs and remittancesProcess transactions across multiple currenciesComplete credit card and supplier statement reconciliationsAccurately record financial transactions and journal entries in the general ledgerAssist with month-end and year-end processes, including prepayments and accrualsMaintain accurate, confidential and organised financial recordsLiaise with internal departments, clients and suppliers to resolve billing and payment queriesProvide general administrative and financial support to the Finance team as requiredAbout YouTo be successful in this position, you will ideally have:At least two years' experience in an accounting or bookkeeping roleA relevant professional qualification, or be currently studying towards one, such as CA, CPA or ACCAIntermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and basic formulasExperience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, although this is not essentialStrong attention to detail and organisational skillsThe ability to prioritise competing tasks and meet deadlinesA professional and discreet approach when handling confidential informationClear written and verbal communication skillsA practical, team-focused attitudeWhat We OfferA full-time opportunity within a growing aviation businessA supportive and cooperative team environmentStudy leave to support relevant professional qualificationsIf you are looking for a varied accounting role where you can build your experience and contribute to a growing organisation, we would like to hear from you.
