Join us and you will have an opportunity to create positive impact within your local community.About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced and compassionate Disability Support Worker / Personal Care Worker to support a NDIS participant in Oak Park.This is an prospect for a calm, patient and empathetic support worker who understands that every person has different communication, sensory and emotional needs.Some of your tasks will include:Supporting the participant with daily living activities and personal careProviding companionship and genuine emotional supportCreating an environment where the participant feels safe, heard and respectedUsing trauma-informed and person-centered communicationBeing mindful of sensory needs and helping maintain a calm and sensory-appropriate environmentProviding clear and reassuring preparation before appointments, outings or unfamiliar activitiesSupporting the participant to make their own decisions about food, routines, activities and supportsEncouraging independence,



choice and control rather than taking overProviding community access and transport where requiredAssisting with domestic tasks as neededSupporting the participant consistently and respectfully while maintaining professional boundariesFollowing the participant's individual support plan and agreed routinesAbout YouWe are looking for someone who is calm, compassionate, patient and emotionally aware, with the ability to build trust and establish a strong qualified relationship with the participant.
You will ideally have:Cert III or IV in Disability (required)Experience supporting people with complex support needs, psychosocial disability, neurodivergence or trauma backgroundsMedication trained (desirable)A strong understanding of trauma-informed careUnderstanding of qualified boundaries within the support work scopeNDIS Worker Screening CheckWorking with Children CheckCPR and First Aid certificationsYour own reliable transport with comprehensive insurance and a Victorian Driver LicenseWhy Join Us?
