Café Doonan is looking for an experienced, reliable and motivated Chef to join our kitchen team. Australian/ Italian Kitchen

We are a busy daytime café located in Doonan on the Sunshine Coast, serving a high-volume breakfast and lunch trade. We are looking for someone who is confident working in a quick-paced environment and capable of taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of the kitchen when required.

The role involves food preparation and service, maintaining consistency and presentation standards, kitchen organisation, stock rotation, food safety and hygiene procedures, as well as completing opening and closing duties.

The position offers approximately full-time hours across 5 days per week, including weekends, with typical shifts from 6:00 am / 7am/ 8am to 3:30 pm. Paid overtime if accrued. One of the major benefits of the role is consistent daytime hours, (Cafe Doonan will eventually open 2 nights a week in the future). Hourly rate is based on your level of experience and what you bring to Café Doonan.

The successful candidate will initially join the team on a casual employment basis. For the right person, there is an chance to progress into a permanent full time position.





Please note that applicants must already be based on the Sunshine Coast or have immediate confirmed relocation. We are not considering candidates from other Australian states or overseas who are not available to start right away.

We are looking for someone who:
Has proven experience as a Chef in a busy café or restaurant environment
Is confident managing a high-volume service
Can work independently and take responsibility for the kitchen when required
Has strong organisational and time-management skills
Maintains high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene and cleanliness
Is reliable, punctual and works well within a team
Is available across 5 days, including weekends (Weekend rates)
Can reliably start at 6:00 am
Has reliable transport to and from Doonan
Its currently leaving in Sunshine Coast

Pay: $57,402.85 – $86,514.51 per year
