You will coordinate the end-to-end delivery of student events and activities, including stakeholder engagement, communications, resources, budgets and casual staffing.This role also contributes specialist knowledge and practical advice on student engagement and event delivery, working across teaching areas, Student Services and other departments to support positive student experiences, participation, belonging and retention.What You'll DoDevise, plan, coordinate, deliver and evaluate student-focused events, programs and activities that promote student engagement, participation, belonging and retentionCoordinate transition and orientation activities, including Campus Welcomes,
Higher Education student orientation and other initiatives that support new students to integrate successfully into Melbourne PolytechnicManage multiple events and activities concurrently through the full event lifecycle, coordinating plans, timelines, documentation and operational requirementsProactively seek and analyse student feedback and student voice to inform future programs and implement improvements in response to emerging student needsWork collaboratively with teaching departments and other service areas to connect the broader student experience with learning and educational outcomes, and provide students with information and access to relevant services where appropriateBuild effective relationships with community organisations, industry partners, sponsors, suppliers and other stakeholders and coordinate their involvement in student engagement programs and activitiesCoordinate event communications and documentation and contribute content for social media and other student communication channelsCoordinate event logistics, resources, suppliers, procurement and service providers, monitor expenditure against allocated budgets and support payment and reconciliation processesRecruit, onboard, train and supervise casual staff and student placements as required, including rostering, allocation of duties, timesheets and appropriate guidance and supportSupport safe and professional event delivery, maintaining appropriate records and documentation and exercising judgement and initiative to resolve operational matters or elevate more complex issues where requiredWhat You'll BringDemonstrated experience in the development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of events, recreational activities, student engagement initiatives and/or community development programsDemonstrated ability to plan and manage multiple events, programs or activities concurrently from initial planning through to delivery and evaluationHighly developed organisational, planning and prioritisation skills, with the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and meet deadlinesStrong event coordination and logistical skills, including experience coordinating resources, suppliers, procurement and event documentationDemonstrated ability to engage effectively with students and develop initiatives responsive to the needs of diverse student cohortsStrong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build productive relationships across internal teams,
