With multiple active projects and further works commencing across South East Queensland, we have a range of opportunities available for skilled Pipelayers looking for consistent, long-term employment.The projects cover subdivisions, road construction and major civil infrastructure, with crews completing sewer, stormwater, drainage and water main installations.
We're looking for candidates who understand the complete pipelaying process and can confidently work with levels, lasers, plans and civil machinery on busy construction sites.For experienced Pipelayers looking to take the next step, selected projects also provide opportunities to develop into Leading Hand and Foreman positions.What's in It for YouHourly rates ranging from $40–$60 + penaltiesWeekly pay with consistent hours across active projectsUp to 10-hour shifts available depending on the siteMultiple locations across Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and IpswichLong-term work with Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 civil contractorsVariety of subdivision, roadworks and infrastructure projectsOpportunities to work alongside experienced Operators and civil crewsGenuine progression into Leading Hand, Foreman and senior site positionsWhat You'll Be DoingInstall sewer,



stormwater and water main infrastructure to project specificationsComplete pipe laying across subdivision and major infrastructure projectsSet up and accurately use pipe lasers and dumpy levelsRead construction plans, drawings, levels and site specificationsAssist with the construction and installation of pits and drainage structuresPrepare trenches and bedding before pipe installationCheck grades, levels and alignment throughout installation worksCoordinate with Excavator Operators during trenching and pipe placementWork alongside Supervisors, Leading Hands and other civil crew membersComplete daily works in accordance with site safety and quality requirementsWhat We're Looking ForDemonstrated experience working as a Civil PipelayerPrevious pit & pipe and underground drainage experienceExperience installing sewer, stormwater and/or water mainsBackground working across subdivisions, roadworks or civil infrastructureConfident using pipe lasers, dumpy levels and other levelling equipmentAbility to read and interpret civil plans and construction drawingsUnderstanding of trench preparation, bedding, grades and pipe installationLeading Hand or Foreman experience will be highly regardedCurrent driver's licence with the ability to travel to project locationsReliable, safety-conscious and comfortable working as part of a busy civil crewWhy Smith & Co?
