You know that a tender can look great on submission day and considerably less outstanding six months into the build. This Brisbane builder wants a Senior Estimator who can spot the difference early.

Industrial construction is the heart of the business: warehouses and other industrial developments, with some commercial work alongside it. The directors are hands-on, and they want someone who can lead the estimating process, challenge assumptions and stand behind the final number.

The role
You’ll take ownership of tenders from the first look at the documents through to submission and handover. That means getting into the detail, speaking with subcontractors and working with the delivery team on how the job will actually be built.

You’ll be responsible for:
Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documents to establish scope
Preparing take-offs, trade packages, cost plans and detailed estimates
Going beyond the cheapest subcontractor quote to understand gaps, exclusions and risk
Working through design development,



buildability and value engineering on D&C; projects
Testing programme and procurement assumptions before they become site problems
Presenting pricing and recommendations directly to the directors
Giving the delivery team a explicit handover when a project is won

About you
You’ll have solid estimating experience with a builder and a track record of leading tenders.
Industrial D&C; experience is strongly preferred.
You’ll know when a scope needs another look, when a trade price needs another phone call and when a clever saving is going to cost more later.
You can get into the detail and still explain the commercial picture clearly to the people making the call.

What’s on offer
$200k–$240k + super, depending on experience, and a senior role with genuine ownership. You’ll work directly with the directors and stay connected to the team delivering the projects you price.
