Hotel/Bistro located in Werribee is currently seeking the services of anexperiencedSous Chef to join our kitchen team on a Full time basis on a rotational roster covering day, night and weekend shifts.We require an experienced person to join our team who lives, loves and breathes food.Working closely with our current team of chefs, answering directly to the Head Chef, you'll play in significant role in the day-to-day leadership of our kitchen to create a successful Bistro and Sports Bar menuRole and responsibilities:Working alongside the Head Chef to delivery consistently high standards across every servicePreparation of meals, ensuring presentation, portion control and quality is of the highest standardContributing ideas and creativity to our menus and weekly specialsPrepare and Store food items, ensuring stock rotation and control is maintained and wastage is limitedMaintaining strict kitchen hygiene,



following food safety protocol and workplace health and safety guidelinesStepping up and confidently leading the kitchen when the Head Chef is awayRelieving and performing other duties as directed by the Head Chef or ManagementConsistently demonstrate professionalism, integrity, commitment, fairness and co-operation in all aspects of the above responsibilitiesYou will also have:Previous experience as a Sous ChefExperience in a high volume kitchen, with fine dining or quality restaurant experience strongly encouragedSound cooking techniques, knife skills, time management and attention to detailsA strong understanding of food cost, seasonality and controlCreativity and the confidence to contribute ideas, particularly around changing specials and seasonal dishesGreat communication skills and ability to work in a motivated cohesive teamAvailablity for Rotational Roster covering Day, Night and Weekend Shifts.
