The Prospect
Spinifex Recruiting is currently seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician to join Tweed Shire Council's Water Division on a 12-month casual contract.
Based at Council's Altona Road facility in Chinderah, this role will be working within the Water and Wastewater division, supporting the electrical maintenance and operation of Council's water and wastewater infrastructure.
This is a great opportunity for a qualified electrician with strong industrial experience who is looking for a longer-term local assignment with Council.
For the right person, the pay rate may be negotiable depending on your level of industrial experience, qualifications and suitability for the role.
About the Role
Working as part of the Water Division, your role will involve electrical maintenance, fault finding and repairs across water and wastewater infrastructure.
Duties may include:
Electrical maintenance, repairs and fault findingPreventative and reactive maintenance of water and wastewater infrastructureWorking with pumps, motors and associated electrical equipmentDiagnosing and resolving electrical faultsTesting,



inspecting and maintaining electrical systems and equipmentSupporting the operation and maintenance of Council's water and wastewater assetsWorking alongside other trades and Council teams to complete maintenance and repair worksEnsuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with relevant standards and proceduresMaintaining accurate records and completing relevant documentation
About You
We are looking for a fully qualified Electrician with solid industrial experience who can work confidently and independently.
Experience within water, wastewater, utilities, manufacturing or similar industrial environments would be highly regarded.
You will ideally have:
Current NSW Electrical LicenceDemonstrated industrial electrical experienceExperience working with pumps, motors and electrical control systemsStrong electrical fault-finding and problem-solving skillsExperience with preventative and reactive maintenanceThe ability to work independently as well as part of a teamStrong communication and interpersonal skillsA strong commitment to workplace health and safetyCurrent driver's licence and reliable transportWater, wastewater, utilities or local government experience will be highly regarded
