Alchemy Recruitment Consulting – East Toowoomba QLDAlchemy Recruitment is partnering with a state government client to support them in recruiting for an Assistant Materials Officer based in East Toowoomba, QLD.This is a 6-month contract (with extension potential), with an immediate start.About the role:Undertake basic materials classification and compliance testing, and assist practitioners with specialist testsSupport sampling, equipment checking, calibration, investigations and instrumentationComplete significant calculation work using manual and software-based toolsWork both indoor and outdoor, including physically demanding tasks (lifting up to 25kg, shovelling, uneven terrain)Occasional isolated locations with limited mobile coverage for up to 5 days — all travel costs coveredPreferred Requirements:Current Class C driver's licenceSound numeracy skills, comfortable with software-based calculation toolsPhysically able to perform manual handling, lifting and extended standing/walkingComfortable with regional travel and time away from home basePreferred Qualifications:No formal qualifications mandatory, but prior materials, geotech, civil lab or technical testing experience highly regarded
