Childcare Chef - Early Learning Service in Caulfield - 8am to 4pm each dayAbout the roleWe are seeking an experienced and passionate Childcare Chef to lead daily food preparation, menu planning and secure kitchen operations within our early learning service.
This role is ideal for someone who loves creating nutritious meals for children, understands dietary needs, and maintains the highest standards of hygiene, compliance and child safety.
Working hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, including morning prep, morning tea service, and ongoing kitchen duties throughout the day.Key responsibilitiesPrepare daily meals and snacks, including morning tea, lunch and afternoon teaPlan and deliver a seasonal, nutritious menu aligned with ACECQA and healthy eating guidelinesManage food ordering, stock rotation and kitchen organisationMaintain strict compliance with food safety, hygiene and allergy management proceduresCater for allergies, intolerances, cultural needs and individual dietary requirementsEnsure safe storage,



preparation and service of all foodWork collaboratively with educators to support children's wellbeing and routinesMaintain a clean, sanitised kitchen environment at all timesComplete daily records, temperature logs and compliance documentationEngage positively with families regarding dietary needs and menu updatesAbout youCertificate IV in Commercial CookeryPreference is to have worked in a childcare or school setting previously.Food Safety Supervisor CertificateAnaphylaxis Management TrainingWorking With Children Check (WWCC)National Police CheckDemonstrated experience working in a childcare or early learning environmentStrong understanding of allergy management, cross-contamination prevention and safe food handlingExcellent organisation, time management and communication skillsCommitment to child safety, wellbeing and regulatory compliance
