Do you love manga, anime, character design and visual storytelling?
Art Academica is looking for a practising manga/anime illustrator or artist to inspire children and teens through drawing, character creation and storytelling.We are not looking for someone to simply supervise activities.
We want an artist who can help students understand how characters are built, how expressions work, how proportions change, how movement is shown, and how stories come alive visually.ABOUT THE ROLEYou will teach small groups of children and teenagers in our Manga classes, helping students develop real drawing and illustration skills while keeping the classes energetic, imaginative and fun.You'll work with areas such as:manga and anime character designfacial expressions and emotionsbody proportionsposes and movementclothing and costume designvisual storytellingcompositionline workcolourdeveloping original characterscreating individual artistic styleWe want you to bring your own artistic personality, enthusiasm and knowledge of manga culture into the classroom.WE WOULD LOVE TO MEET YOU IF YOU ARE...A practising manga artist, illustrator, comic artist or visual storyteller with a strong portfolio.You should be:confident drawing manga/anime charactersstrong in illustration and character designcomfortable demonstrating drawing liveenergetic,



warm and engaging with childrenreliable and organisedconfident communicating with studentsable to manage a small classroomcomfortable following a structured lesson plan or create your owngenuinely interested in manga and anime cultureinterested in a long-term teaching relationshipYOUR PORTFOLIO IS ESSENTIALPlease include examples of your manga, anime, comic or character illustration work with your application.Instagram, website, Behance, ArtStation or another social media portfolio is absolutely fine.Applications without relevant artwork will not be considered.EXTRA SPARKLEBonus points if manga/anime culture is already part of your world — whether that's:cosplay, character-inspired makeup, fashion, conventions, accessories or simply a deep love of the genre.We love teachers who bring their personality into the studio.You absolutely do not need to dress up to teach — but if you enjoy it, we will probably love it too.TEACHING EXPERIENCE?
