All Abilities Educator & Program SupervisorYou'll run the Saturday session of a community bakery program where young people with disability get their first paid work experience.
You'll be on the floor alongside four to six participants, breaking recipes into achievable steps, adjusting on the fly when a task isn't landing, and reading the room when someone's had enough.
You'll direct the volunteers rostered on and hold food safety and allergen controls without exception.
There's no manager standing behind you during the session — you'll make the calls.
The other seven hours are yours to schedule during the week for preparation, progress notes, participant reviews, and conversations with families and support coordinators.Key responsibilitiesTeach young people with disability practical job skills in a real bakery environmentBreak recipes and tasks into steps participants can achieveAdjust teaching approach on the fly based on participant responseDirect volunteers rostered on during Saturday sessionsMaintain food safety and allergen controls without exceptionPrepare for sessions and complete progress notes during weekday hoursCommunicate with families and support coordinatorsAbout youA qualification in disability support, education support or community services — or the experience to match itReal experience with young people with intellectual disability, autism or complex support needsThe ability to teach a physical task, not just supervise oneA working understanding of positive behaviour supportSound independent judgementWorking with Children Clearance, NDIS Worker Screening Check, current First Aid and CPRCommercial kitchen or bakery experience is a bonus, not a requirement$*****/hr weekday, $*****/hr Saturday, plus 12% superannuation — above the SCHADS Award at every hourA permanent part time role, not casual — the same participants every weekPaid time built in for preparation and documentationGenuine scope for hours to grow as the program scalesPaid training and certifications including Food Safety Supervisor certificate, anaphylaxis training and NDIS orientation module
