Female Disability Support Worker (Dementia Experience Required)Come and join our amazing team and help usmake a difference to the lives of people living with disability.About the roleWe are looking for experienced and caring Disability Support Workers to join our team and provide 1:1 and 2:1 support to a participant living with advanced dementia and complex health needs.This is a rewarding role for someone who is patient, calm and compassionate and who enjoys making a real difference in someone's day-to-day life.
Shift times are either 8am to 1 pm or 12 pm to 6 pm.You will support the participant with:Personal care and daily routinesMobility, transfers and repositioningMeals and fluid intakeCommunity access and meaningful activitiesEmotional support and reassuranceCommunication and changing needsMaintaining dignity, privacy and choiceFollowing support, behaviour and health plansCompleting progress notes and reporting any concernsThe participant is receiving palliative care, so you will need to be comfortable providing comfort-focused support and supporting someone experiencing changes in their health.Your new company:Myxais a registered NDIS Service provider assisting people with disability, their family, and carers.

you will possess the following:Dementia experience is required in order to be considered for this roleA strong understanding of the NDIS and participant support requirementsHave excellent communication skills with the ability to respond to the needs of people with a disabilityExperienced in implementing positive behaviour support strategies to manage complex behavioursExperience supporting NDIS participants with physical and psychosocial disabilitiesCalm, patient and gentleCaring, compassionate and respectfulObservant and able to notice changes in the participant's health or behaviourPassion for building strong relationships and rapport with participantsAbility to work as part of a team and independentlyAbility to complete detailed and accurate documentationFirst Aid CertificateDrivers LicenceNDIS Worker Screening ClearanceWorking with Children CheckProof of Covid-19 VaccinationLegal working rights in AustraliaYou will have the prospect to work for an organisation who prides themselves on providing the most suitable supports for our participants.
