Stairform specialises in designing and manufacturing customised staircases, handrails, and landings for the construction industry.We are committed to maintaining a safe and inclusive workplace that values and respects diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.About the RoleWe are currently seeking full‐time Welders/Metal Fabricators to join our team at our Dandenong South, VIC warehouse.The successful candidates will work closely with the factory supervisor, demonstrating reliability, teamwork, and a robust sense of responsibility and pride in their work.Duties and responsibilities:Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures.Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g., cut material with powered saws to match measurements)Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces.Weld components using manual or semi‐automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead)Shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools,



and by heating and hammeringJoining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting, and rivetingExamining welds for width of bead, penetration, and precisionCleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiseling, and grinding.Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.Working Hours: 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday - 7 am to 3 pmSkills and ExperienceMinimum 3 years' experience as a Metal Fabricator/WelderExperience in steel preparation and processingCertificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (or equivalent)Strong MIG welding and fabrication skillsProficiency with hand tools and machinery (cutting, shaping, bending, joining, grinding)Key AttributesAbility to follow instructions and work autonomouslyStrong teamwork skillsHigh attention to detailGood communication skillsPhysically fit and able to perform manual tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periodsAdditional RequirementsMaintain tools and equipment to a professional standardKeep work areas clean and organisedIdentify and report potential hazards to ensure a safe work environment
