The Service has 5 units (Anatomical Pathology, Clinical Biochemistry, Haematology, Microbiology and Human Molecular Pathology), each headed by a Unit Head.
APS has the core laboratory at The Alfred as well as a small local laboratory at Sandringham hospital.Position SummaryLaboratory Technician to work in our flowcytometry section of the haematology department.
They will be responsible for the processing of specimens according to established laboratory procedures under supervision.
Their goal is to work as part of a team to achieve high quality work and produce accurate and timely reports.In addition, technicains may be responsible for other duties as instructed and for day to day equipment maintenance, preparation of reagents,



and stocktaking if required.Experience and Qualifications RequiredFormal Education relevant to the positionSound knowledge of flowcytometry and its practical applicationsAbility to setup and perform flowcytometry on blood, tissue, bone marrow and fluids independentlyAbility to work within a team and demonstrate effective communication skillsProven ability to perform flowcytometry setup and processingSound knowledge of clinical haematology and its practical applications in flowcytometrySound knowledge of recent advances in flowcytometrySound knowledge of laboratory haematology and its inter-relationship with flowcytometryCommitted to the Mission and Values of Alfred Health.Salary packaging & novated leasing throughMaxxia*Onsite car & bike parking opportunities, deducted pre-tax!!
