About the role
We are seeking amotivated, positive and compassionate Part-Time Veterinary Nurseto join our team, working28+ hours per week.
This is an opportunity to join a supportive nursing team where your development matters.
Whether you are an experienced Veterinary Nurse looking for a fresh environment or a recentCertificate IV or Veterinary Technology graduateready to begin your career, we will provide structured support to help you succeed.
Our training & support
We understand that starting in a new clinic can be daunting, so we have developed a structured induction process designed to build your confidence from day one.
Experienced Veterinary Nurses:2 weeks of transitional training shifts
New graduates:4 weeks of introductory training and supported shifts
Training alongside our experienced senior nursing team
Shadowing opportunities to help you become familiar with our systems, standards and workflow
Ongoing mentoring, support and guidance well beyond your initial induction
You will also have access to a team of experienced veterinary professionals acrossthree clinics, providing a strong network of knowledge, support and professional development.
Our communication systems allow our nursing, veterinary and reception teams to stay connected throughout the day, ensuring you always have someone to turn to when you need support.
What you'll be doing
Your role will be varied, hands-on and rewarding, with a strong focus on patient care and supporting our veterinary team.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting veterinarians with procedures includinganaesthetic monitoring, IV catheter placement, blood collection and animal handling
Providing exceptional patient care and maintaining high standards of animal welfare
Delivering warm, professional and compassionate customer service
Welcoming clients and their pets and supporting them throughout their visit
Maintaining excellent hygiene standards and completing daily cleaning protocols
Assisting with reception and administrative duties when required
Managing appointment scheduling, follow-ups and daily workflow
Liaising with the veterinary, nursing and reception teams to ensure patients are appropriately prioritised
Communicating with external veterinary and pet health care providers
Requesting pathology results, samples and other documentation
Assisting with patient transport and veterinary house calls
Supporting communication between our clinics and team members using our scheduling and communication systems
Processing payments, EFTPOS and cash handling
Completing end-of-day/shift balancing
Communicating effectively regarding emergencies, client expectations and follow-up requirements
Supporting clients through difficult or emotional situations with empathy and professionalism
Continuing to develop your veterinary nursing knowledge and clinical skills
What we're looking for
We are looking for someone who iscaring, capable,
enthusiastic and keen to be part of a team.
You will ideally have:
Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent qualification
Strong practical skills in veterinary nursing procedures
Confidence withIV catheter placement, blood collection and anaesthetic monitoring
Excellent animal handling skills
A strong understanding of veterinary nursing standards and procedures
A genuine commitment to providing high-quality patient and client care
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A positive, proactive and solutions-focused approach
The ability to remain calm and professional in challenging or emotional situations
A willingness to learn, develop and expand your clinical knowledge
EzyVet experience is highly desirable
Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays
A current driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
New graduates are encouraged to apply!
If you have recently completed yourCertificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or Veterinary Technology qualification, we would love to hear from you.
You don't need to know everything on day one.
We are looking for someone with aconfident, hands‐on attitude, willingness to learn and genuine passion for veterinary nursing.
Our senior nursing team will provide the mentoring and support you need to develop your skills and confidence.
