As a Fleming's Landscapes Team Leader (Maintenance), you will be responsible for overseeing the execution of a range of daily tasks and projects within the maintenance division of our operations.
With the support of the Council Project Manager, you will oversee the delivery of work and communicate with your designated crew to meet our client expectations on a daily basis.
You will also be required to assist with coordinating all works associated prior to seeking handover of streetscapes and parks to council.
Conducting open space and streetscape tree audits is also a key function of the role as well as producing reports and arranging / coordinating orders.
It is a requirement of the role to adhere to performance management in line with all KPI's for the division.
RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES
Leadership and People Management
Provide clear and direct instruction to staff
Assist with annual performance reviews
Supervise and lead a small team to deliver the required outcomes
Provide and manage work scheduled
Manage staff and performance whilst building a positive working relationship
Streetscapes and Open Spaces
Tree maintenance, including watering, staking and minor pruning
Weed identification and control
Disease and pest identification control
Monitoring irrigation systems and carrying out minor repairs where necessary
Inspect and report maintenance items for action in a timely manner
Recommend the replacement of any play equipment items necessary
Identify when soft fall areas need replacing
OH&S;
Perform all tasks in a manner that does not place at risk the health and safety or yourself or any other employee
Ensure you observe, understand and comply with all Occupational Health and Safety Regulations,

Report any incidents, accidents or near misses immediately
Admin and Management
Assist Managers with the development and reviews of service standards
Prepare and submit reports
Display a positive, punctual and reliable approach to work
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
Proven ability and experience in planning, organising and coordination projects
Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
Ability to meet deadlines
Safety Conscious
Proactive in showing initiative for results - problem solving and improving operations in a maintenance environment
Experience in the use of specific plant, machinery, equipment and tools
Able to work unsupervised and as part of a team
Friendly and easy going
Drivers Licence - Manual highly advantageous
ChemCert Certificate
Certificate IV in Horticulture and/or extensive related experience
