This role is key to ensuring high-quality recycling outcomes and supporting Council's waste and resource recovery services.About the RoleWorking within the Materials Recycling Facility (MRF), you will help maximize recycling outcomes by identifying and removing contamination from the processing stream.
Your work will directly contribute to environmental sustainability and compliance with waste management standards.Key ResponsibilitiesSort recyclable materials and remove contamination from processing linesSupport effective operation of plant and equipment within the MRFAssist with basic maintenance and daily operational checksMaintain clean and safe work areasComplete required documentation and report hazards or equipment issuesFollow all WHS policies and Council proceduresEssential RequirementsCertificate II in Waste Management (desirable)Experience in waste, recycling or resource recovery operationsStrong understanding of recyclable materials and contamination risksCommitment to Workplace Health & Safety practicesWhite Card (mandatory)Physically fit and capable of manual handlingBasic computer skillsFull working rights in AustraliaAll candidates MUST undertake a pre-employment medical including a Drug & Alcohol testDesirableExperience operating conveyors, balers, or fixed plant equipmentUnderstanding of recycling commoditiesLocal government experienceWhy Join?
