Elecdata Australia Pty Ltd has been providing telecommunications and electrical services to the New South Wales commercial and government sectors for over 28 years, delivering work across some of Sydney's most transformative projectsAbout the roleThis is a full-time, in office role for a Telecommunications Technician with electrical experience.You will be responsible for installing, testing, commissioning and maintaining telecommunications, communications cabling and electrical infrastructure across a range of projects.
The role includes rough-in and fit-off of communications and electrical systems, troubleshooting, commissioning, servicing, maintenance and repair of existing installations.The successful candidate will be comfortable working across both telecommunications and electrical scopes and able to work independently or as part of a team.Key responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):Install, terminate, label and test structured cabling, including Cat6/Cat6A and fibre opticInstall communications hardware including racks, patch panels, outlets and cable management systemsUndertake electrical installation and associated works in accordance with relevant standards and project requirements.Perform fault finding, diagnostics and repairs on telecommunications and electrical systemsHold a current Electrical Contractor's Licence.Complete rough-in and fit-off of telecommunications and electrical infrastructureRead and interpret technical drawings,



plans and specificationsPerform fibre optic installation, termination, testing and fault findingComplete testing, certification and commissioning documentationEnsure all works are completed safely, on time and to a high standardLiaise professionally with clients, site supervisors and team membersMaintain tools, equipment and work areas in a safe and organised conditionWork across commercial, government and rail-related projects as requiredAbout youProven experience as a Telecommunications Technician, Data Cabler, Communications Technician, Electrician or similar roleCurrent NSW Electrical Licence – requiredOpen Cabling Registration (ACMA) with relevant endorsements – requiredStrong telecommunications and structured cabling experienceExperience with fibre optic installation and testing – highly regardedAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and specificationsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamWhite Card – requiredCurrent Driver's Licence – requiredSecurity Licence – desirableRail industry experience – highly regardedWhat We OfferFull-time, secure employment with an established Australian companyVariety of telecommunications and electrical projectsOpportunities to work on major commercial, government and rail projectsA supportive team environmentOpportunities for ongoing training and developmentCompetitive remuneration based on experience and qualifications
