We take our recruitment seriously because every person we employ becomes part of our children's everyday lives.About the roleYour day will begin in our kitchen, preparing fresh morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea for our children.
Once your cooking, preparation and kitchen responsibilities are completed, you will transition into the rooms and work alongside our educators, giving you the opportunity to build genuine relationships with our children rather than being someone they only see in the kitchen.
We want our cook to be part of our centre community — someone who knows our children, understands their individual needs and takes pride in seeing them enjoy the food they have prepared.Key responsibilitiesPrepare nutritious, appealing morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea each dayDevelop and review menus that are nutritious, wide-ranging and enjoyable for childrenSafely cater for allergies, intolerances, medical requirements and religious/cultural dietary needsMaintain high standards of food preparation, storage, temperature control, hygiene and food safetyIndependently manage the day-to-day operation, organisation and cleanliness of the kitchenOrder groceries and kitchen supplies, monitor stock, rotate food appropriately and minimise wasteComplete required food-safety, temperature,



cleaning and kitchen documentation accuratelyParticipate in cooking and healthy-eating experiences with the childrenWork within the rooms alongside our educators to support children's learning, routines, supervision and wellbeingAbout youA current NSW Working With Children Check, or ability to obtain one before commencingAppropriate food handling/food safety knowledge and trainingCertificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care OR willingness to commence and work towards the qualificationA genuine commitment to child safety and wellbeing or Child Protection Certificate if a qualified Cert IIIThe ability to meet the requirements associated with working within an early childhood education and care serviceGenuinely enjoys being around childrenTakes pride in preparing fresh, tasty foodExtremely conscious of allergies and dietary requirementsOrganised and able to independently manage a kitchenMaintains excellent cleanliness and hygiene standardsFull time Monday–Friday employmentNo nights or weekendsSmall, supportive teamHands on and approachable managementThe opportunity to get to know our children and families personallyInput into menus and children's food experiencesVariety between cooking and working directly with childrenThe opportunity to commence or continue your Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
