Gawura Aboriginal Corporation is seeking an experienced, community dedicated and compassionate Aboriginal Female FDSV Case Manager to provide support and services to Aboriginal women and families affected by family and domestic violence.
The successful candidate will work closely with the team to provide crisis intervention, case management, and advocacy services.Key responsibilitiesProvide crisis intervention and support to Aboriginal women and families affected by family and domestic violenceConduct risk assessments and develop safety plans with clientsProvide case management and advocacy services to access relevant support servicesCollaborate with other service providers to ensure a coordinated response to client needsDevelop and implement programs and services to promote healthy relationships and prevent family and domestic violenceWork closely with Aboriginal community members and organisations to promote the service and build trustAbout youConfirmation of Aboriginality - section 126 of the Anti-Discrimination Act **** in NSW or section 8(1)



of the federal Racial Discrimination Act ****Strong understanding of how an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation operates to support the local community5 years of experience working in a similar role, preferably in a family and domestic violence settingDiploma or Certificate or relevant experience in a similar fieldStrong understanding of the complexities of family and domestic violence and its impact on Aboriginal women and familiesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work in a quick-paced environment and prioritise tasks effectivelyCultural sensitivity and ability to work with Aboriginal clients and communitiesValid NSW Driver's LicenseCurrent Employment WWCC, Current National Criminal History Check, Current driver history check - upon requestAbout usGawura Aboriginal Corporation is a leading Aboriginal organisation in the Illawarra, and we provide trauma informed cultural safe support services to the Aboriginal community.
