Makinex is an Australian owned private company that are experts in the design, development and distribution of creative products since ****, providing solutions to the construction, landscaping, equipment hire, infrastructure and related industries.We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic person to join the shared services finance team at our head office in Artarmon, reporting to the CFO.
Whilst primarily focused on Accounts Payable and cash management the role will be wide and varied across the five key companies in our group and will suit someone looking to entrench their finance experience and gradually learn new skills across other areas of accounting.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESManagement of the Accounts Payable process including 1 outsourced staff memberValidating and processing of supplier invoices ensuring compliance with approval processes and correct costing allocationsScheduling weekly payment runs with approval from CFOManaging business bank account transactions, including outgoing payments, applying incoming payments,



and management of funds transfers between group entitiesLiaising with banks regarding customer or supplier payment queriesGeneral ledger reconciliations for selected companies and accountsAssistance with month end closing including review of reports and processing of monthly journalsManagement of fixed assets and depreciationVariance analysis for select company P&LsSupporting; the CFO and finance team in other finance areas as requiredParticipation in general business activities to support other areas of the businessTaking part in SAP Business ByDesign (ERP) process improvement initiativesABOUT YOUYou enjoy people interaction but can work independently when required.
You take pride in being organised and dependable and are comfortable juggling multiple priorities, remaining calm when things change quickly.Ideally you will be a person who has;A degree from a recognised university / college / institute relating to Accounting and Finance.Knowledge of accounting principles and Accounts Payable processesProficiency in Microsoft ExcelAbility to work with minimal supervision.Ability to work well with team members from other departmentsAbility to support and follow agreed approval proceduresA minimum one year of post graduate experienceExcellent interpersonal skillsProblem solving and analytical skillsWHY MAKINEX?
