Job ImpactWe are seeking professional and detail-oriented Cargo Screeners to join our team.Working within a fast-paced aviation and logistics environment, you will play a critical role in maintaining the security and integrity of the supply chain by screening cargo and identifying potential threats before entry into secure areas.This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy operational environments, have strong attention to detail and are committed to upholding the highest security standards.About the RoleAs a Cargo Screener, you will be responsible for conducting both electronic and physical screening of cargo in accordance with regulatory requirements and Certis operating procedures.You will support the safe and secure movement of freight while ensuring compliance with aviation and transport security regulations.Employment Type: CasualLocation: Port HedlandRoster: 4-12hr shifts available across day, afternoon, night, weekend and public holiday operations.
Availability across multiple shift patterns is highly regarded.Pay Rate: Security Award Level 2 + aviation and FIFO allowancesBenefits: Paid flights, accommodation and trainingTraining & AccreditationSuccessful applicants will complete a paid training pathway funded by Certis, including a 24-hour online Cargo Screening course, 40 hours of supervised On-the-Job Training (OJT), and a 4-hour accreditation assessment.
Successful completion of all training and accreditation requirements is mandatory before undertaking Cargo Screening duties independently and continuing in the role.Key ResponsibilitiesPrimary duties include,



but are not limited to:Operating X-ray screening and other approved detection equipmentMonitoring and interpreting X-ray images to identify potential threats or prohibited itemsConducting physical inspections and searches of cargo when requiredFollowing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulatory requirementsMaintaining accurate records, logs and screening documentationReporting and escalating security or safety incidents in accordance with proceduresIdentifying and handling prohibited items in line with established protocolsControlling access to security-sensitive and restricted areasConducting routine equipment checks and reporting faults as requiredParticipating in shift briefings and operational handoversAbout YouYou are a vigilant and reliable security skilled who understands the importance of maintaining secure cargo operations.You possess excellent attention to detail, strong observational skills and the ability to remain focused in a dynamic operational environment.You will bring:Current WA Security LicenceStrong attention to detail and observational capabilitiesExcellent communication and report-writing skillsAbility to follow procedures and compliance requirements rigorouslyStrong decision-making and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamProfessionalism, reliability and accountabilityPhysical capability to stand for extended periods and perform manual inspectionsFlexibility to work a variety of casual shiftsExperience within aviation, transport,
