Pymble Orthodontics is seeking a dedicated and organised Dental Assistant to join our team.
This role is fundamental to the smooth operation of our orthodontic practice, providing essential support to our clinical and administrative staff.
You will play a crucial role in ensuring our patients receive exceptional care whilst maintaining the efficiency and professionalism our practice is known for.

Key responsibilities
Assisting orthodontists and oral health therapists during patient treatments and procedures
Preparing and sterilising dental instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control protocols
Scheduling patient appointments and managing the clinical calendar to optimise practice flow
Recording patient medical and dental histories accurately and maintaining comprehensive clinical records
Taking intra oral scans and processing intraoral and extraoral radiographs
Providing chair-side support during orthodontic treatments such as orthodontic adjustments and appliance fitting
Educating patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions
Processing payments, managing accounts and handling general administrative duties
Maintaining a clean, organised and welcoming clinical setting
Contributing to a positive team atmosphere and supporting colleagues across the practice
What we looking for
Completion of a recognised Dental Assistant qualification or equivalent training
Current CPR certification and willingness to maintain ongoing professional development
Demonstrated experience working as a dental assistant, preferably within an orthodontic setting
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks




Excellent communication abilities and a genuine commitment to patient care and satisfaction
Proficiency with dental practice management software and general computer skills
Understanding of infection control and sterilisation procedures in a dental environment
Qualified demeanour, reliability and a team-oriented approach to work
Flexibility with scheduling to accommodate the part-time nature of this position
A caring attitude towards patients of all ages and the ability to help anxious patients feel at ease
