The Fitter Machinist operates and programs automated CNC lathes and milling machines, operates manual lathes and milling machines, reads and understands engineering drawings to produce parts, and performs removal, repair and installation of new and used parts and machinery.
The role reports to the Workshop Supervisor and is based in Gladstone.Key responsibilitiesEnsure work area is in a secure, clean and tidy state before commencing and maintain this during workFollow all DGH Engineering's Policies and Procedures and the Workplace Health and Safety Act and Regulations and any applicable site rulesIdentify hazards in work area and put suitable controls in placeAdvise other workers of hazards they have not identified or controlledEnsure correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)



is worn as intended by the manufacturerAsk questions of the Leading Hand or Supervisor if unsure how to proceedEnsure familiarity with or hold the correct licence/ticket for any equipment required to operateCarry out work to the best of abilityTreat other workers and their belongings with respectReport immediately to the Leading Hand or Supervisor any incident, injury or near miss and complete an Incident Report as soon as possibleAbout youAbility to read, understand and produce parts from engineering drawings
