We believe quality support means understanding the individual—not simply providing a service.We are looking for a compassionate, open-minded, and non-judgmental Support Worker who can build a genuine connection with a participant and provide support that is respectful of their identity, values, beliefs, relationships, and lifestyle.The OpportunityWe are seeking a female Community Support Worker who is LGBTQIA+ affirming and comfortable supporting a participant with a diverse range of interests, beliefs and relationship structures.A trans woman Support Worker is highly preferred for this role, as the participant feels that someone who shares or understands her lived experience may help foster stronger rapport, trust and a sense of comfort and connection.We welcome applications from LGBTQIA+ people and allies who can provide genuinely inclusive and affirming support.The Right Person Will BeOpen-minded, accepting and genuinely non-judgmentalLGBTQIA+ affirming and respectful of diverse gender identitiesPatient, empathetic, calm and emotionally groundedA good listener who takes the time to understand the person they supportSupportive of autonomy, independence and personal choiceComfortable discussing personal or difficult topics appropriatelyAble to remain calm and reassuring when the participant becomes overwhelmedReliable and consistent in maintaining a trusting support relationshipSupport AreaPenrith, NSWCommunity access and transport around Sydney,
