Based in Tomago, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Laser & Press Operator Assistant to join our fabrication and mechanical workshop team.
This role works closely with trades and workshop personnel to ensure jobs are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate brake press and CNC laser cutting machinery safely and efficientlySupport fabrication and mechanical trades with workshop activitiesPrepare, deliver, and organise materials and equipment for workshop jobs and repairsMaintain job packs, quality records, and workshop documentation accuratelyUse hand and power tools safely and effectivelyMaintain clean, organised work areas and uphold workshop housekeeping standardsParticipate in safety initiatives, toolbox meetings, and raise NCRs when requiredContribute to waste reduction and continuous improvement activitiesPrioritise workloads and manage schedules to meet operational requirementsPerform other duties as directed by supervisorsExperience operating Brake Press and CNC laser cutting machines in an industrial environmentPrevious experience in a fabrication or mechanical workshop environmentStrong problem-solving and critical thinking skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a teamExcellent time management and organisational skillsHigh attention to detail with a commitment to quality outcomesDemonstrated commitment to safe work practices and proceduresLicences & TicketsCurrent Driver's LicenceHeavy Rigid (HR) Truck Licence (desirable/advantageous)High Risk Work Licences:Forklift Licence (LF)Dogging Licence (DG)Employee BenefitsAt Ampcontrol, we believe great work deserves outstanding rewards.
