The Technical Business Development Engineer provides client-facing technical and commercial support for Labrador's well engineering and broader energy-sector consultancy services.
The role applies engineering and petroleum geoscience knowledge to understand client requirements, shape technical service solutions, prepare quotations and tenders, and coordinate the successful delivery of consulting assignments and technical projects.
The position acts as a technical interface between clients, Labrador management, consultants and project teams.
It combines technical advisory work, proposal and tender development, project management and business development, with the primary emphasis on credible technical service delivery and fit-for-purpose well engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities: Technical Advisory Engineering Provide technical well engineering and energy-sector consulting support.
Review client requirements and develop practical, fit-for-purpose solutions.
Prepare technical reports, recommendations and project deliverables.
Proposals, Tenders Commercial Support Prepare quotations, proposals and tender submissions.
Develop scopes of work, methodologies, schedules and pricing inputs.
Support bid presentations, negotiations and project handovers.
Project Delivery Coordinate consulting assignments from proposal through to close-out.
Manage schedules, resources, budgets, risks and deliverable quality.
Maintain effective communication with clients and project teams.
Business Development Client Engagement Build and maintain strong client relationships.
Identify new business opportunities and support company growth.
Represent Labrador at client meetings, workshops and industry events.
Governance Continuous Improvement Ensure compliance with applicable safety, quality and company requirements.
Contribute to service improvement, knowledge sharing and business processes.
Maintain accurate project and business records.
About You: Essential Degree-qualified in Engineering, Geoscience, or a related technical discipline.
Experience within the oil gas, energy, or resources sectors.
Strong knowledge of well engineering, drilling, completions, intervention, production, or related technical services.
Experience preparing proposals, tenders, quotations, and technical reports.
Proven project coordination, client engagement, and business development experience.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and travel as required Desirable Experience in consulting, skilled services, or technical workforce environments.
Exposure to reservoir, production, well intervention, or related technologies.
Knowledge of project controls, contract administration, CRM systems, or quality management systems.
