This is a senior technical leadership opportunity focused on strengthening the technical function across asphalt operations and turning technical capability into measurable improvements in quality, cost, innovation and commercial performance.
The successful candidate will take ownership of quality assurance, process control, asphalt mix optimisation, binder development, laboratory capability, product innovation, R D and technical team development .
Attachment Key responsibilities include: Lead and improve QA and process control systems across asphalt operations Drive asphalt mix optimisation, balancing specification compliance, performance and production cost Lead technical assessment relating to binder design, modification and blending Develop proprietary and sustainable asphalt products Support innovation across RAP, warm mix, recycled materials and lower-carbon solutions Assess and develop R D opportunities and technical partnerships Strengthen laboratory systems, testing capability and technical governance Identify opportunities to bring outsourced testing capability in-house Support growth of external laboratory and technical services Apply continuous improvement principles,



including Lean Six Sigma where appropriate Develop technical training, capability and succession pathways Take ownership of test methods, mix design approvals and technical quality decisions Work closely with production, commercial and operational teams on broader business performance Requirements Strong experience in asphalt technical management, asphalt materials or a closely related construction materials environment Strong knowledge of asphalt mix design, optimisation and quality control Experience with laboratory operations, testing and process control Working knowledge of NATA-accredited systems or comparable quality frameworks Experience with asphalt binders, aggregates and material performance Exposure to RAP, warm mix or sustainable asphalt technologies highly regarded Strong analytical and technical problem-solving capability Demonstrated ability to turn technical improvements into operational or commercial value Strong communication and technical reporting skills Experience leading, mentoring or developing technical teams Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of technical outcomes Strong collaboration across production, commercial and operational functions Australian working rights Highly regarded experience includes binder modification or blending, proprietary product development, R D, Lean Six Sigma,



technical business development, NATA scope development, road authority specifications and capital projects .
The role also carries broader exposure to pricing, tender review and operational decision-making.

Requirements • Proven experience as an Asphalt Paver Operator.
• Practical experience operating Vögele Super 800, Super **** and Super **** pavers.
• Strong understanding of asphalt paving procedures.
• Current White Card.
• Current Australian driver's licence.
• Relevant mandatory machinery tickets, licences or VOCs.
• Strong safety awareness and attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Full Australian working rights.
• Availability to commence around 31 August ****.
