As a full-time Legal Secretary, you will provide high-level administrative support to our legal professionals in the Wills & Estates department, ensuring the productive and effective delivery of legal services to our clients.Australian work rights are required for this position.As a full-time employee your hours stretch over a five (5) day working week, with hours as follows:Monday – 8:30am – 5pmTuesday – 8:30am – 5pmThursday – 8:30am – 5pmFriday – 8:30am – 3pmKey responsibilities include:Manage the daily calendars and schedules of assigned lawyers, arranging meetings, appointments and travel as neededPrepare and format a variety of legal documents such as correspondence, contracts,



briefs and court filingsConduct legal research and compile information to support the work of legal professionalsMaintain electronic and physical filing systems, ensuring records are organised and easily retrievableProvide exceptional customer service to clients, handling inquiries, scheduling appointments and following up on requestsAssist with other administrative tasks as required to support the smooth operation of the legal practiceTo be successful in this role, you will need:Experience as a Legal Secretary or in a similar administrative role within a legal environmentMinimum 1-2 years of legal secretary experience is requiredExcellent typing and data entry skills with a high level of accuracyStrong organisational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritise effectivelyProficiency in the use of legal software, Microsoft Office suite and other office technologiesProficiency in LawMaster legal software is requiredOutstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and courteous mannerAbility to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and adaptable approachKnowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and document formattingWhat we offerAt Butler McDermott Lawyers, we are committed to creating a positive and supportive work environment for our employees.
