Knox Basketball | State Basketball CentreKnox Basketball operates one of Australia's premier basketball and community sporting venues, with the café servicing athletes, members, families, spectators, visitors, tournaments, functions and major sporting events such as WNBL & NBL games.This is an exciting opportunity for hospitality professionals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, take pride in great coffee and fresh food, and genuinely enjoy providing friendly, productive customer service.This is not an entry-level café role / previous experience essentialAbout the RoleWorking as part of the café team, you will support the F&B; Manager, Head Chef and wider hospitality team to deliver high-quality fresh food, coffee and customer service across the State Basketball Centre.You will be expected to confidently move between barista, food preparation, customer service, POS, kitchen support, cleaning and event catering duties depending on operational requirements.Your day may include:Operating commercial coffee equipment and maintaining consistently high barista standardsPreparing fresh rolls, sandwiches, wraps, toasties and other café food itemsAssisting with food preparation and basic cookingSupporting the kitchen and café team during peak trading periodsTaking customer orders and operating POS and EFTPOS systemsProviding friendly, skilled and efficient customer servicePreparing and replenishing café displays, fridges and service areasAssisting with catering preparation, set-up, service and pack-down for tournaments, functions, major events, alcohol bar service and moreRestocking supplies and rotating stock using FIFO principlesMaintaining food preparation areas, café equipment and customer areas to a high standard,



dishwashing and general café cleaningCompleting opening and closing procedures and cleaning checklistsReceiving, checking and correctly storing deliveriesFollowing food safety, hygiene, allergen management and WHS proceduresWorking closely with supervisors and other team members to ensure smooth serviceAbout YouWe are looking for people who can demonstrate:Previous experience working in a busy café or high-volume hospitality environmentConfidence working on a commercial coffee machineExperience preparing fresh café food such as rolls, gourmet sandwiches, wraps, hot food dishes, toasties and similar productsPrevious kitchen, cooking or food preparation experience highly regardedThe ability to work efficiently and calmly during busy service periodsExcellent customer service and communication skillsConfidence using POS and EFTPOS systemsStrong food safety and hygiene awarenessA positive, reliable and team-focused attitudeExcellent personal presentation and attention to detailThe ability to follow procedures, take direction and work as part of a teamA willingness to undertake a range of café, kitchen, cleaning and event-support dutiesThe ability to maintain quality and presentation standards even during major events and peak periodsAvailability & FlexibilityThis is a genuinely flexible casual position,
